According to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology, North Khorasan University of Medical Sciences has received official approval from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education to admit students to its Ph.D. by Research program for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Dr. Omid Toupchian, Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology, stated that under this approval, the Research Center for Medicinal Plants and Natural Products has been authorized, for the first time at the university, to admit two Ph.D. by Research students in the fields of Medical Nanotechnology and Pharmaceutics.

He added that the admitted students will conduct their research activities under the supervision of Dr. Fatemeh Oroojalian (Associate Professor of Nanobiotechnology) and Dr. Amir Amani (Professor of Pharmaceutics), both of whom meet the eligibility criteria set by the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Toupchian emphasized that obtaining the authorization to enroll Ph.D. by Research students marks a significant step toward enhancing the university’s scientific and research capacity. He noted that this initiative will strengthen both the quality and quantity of research activities and contribute to improving the university’s position in national and international rankings.

He further highlighted that admitting research-based doctoral students, particularly in pharmaceutical sciences and advanced technologies, will foster a stronger link between education, research, and innovation. With the continued development of research infrastructure and supportive frameworks, the university aims to expand its capacity to admit more Ph.D. by Research students in the future.
